Beat it!
Is an innovative, tailored fitness and lifestyle program.
The free program is designed to assist those at risk of, or living with diabetes and other chronic conditions, through education and physical activity - all in a safe and supportive environment.
The program is being run as part of Greater Shepparton City
Council's Healthy Communities program ‘Get Mooving Greater
Shepparton' which has been funded by the Australian Government
until June 2013.
The program
Beat It! Is a 12 week program consisting of an initial consultation, two one-hour fitness sessions per week and one fortnightly education session, focusing on health and active living and a six month follow up session
Beat it! Is suitable for people who:
- Are not working full time
- Are overweight or obese
- Are at least six months, post discharge from an acute cardiac event or cardiac surgery.
The BEAT IT program will be run in Shepparton, Murchison, Tatura, Merrigum, Katandra West, Dookie and Undera.
